• Your contract has expired: Ensure you’re not locked into your current contract. Check the end date to confirm.
• You’re on a deemed tariff: If you’ve recently taken over a new premises, you may be on a deemed tariff, which is often more expensive.
• The fixed term of your contract has ended: Once your fixed-term contract is up, you’re free to explore other options.
If you want to switch before the end of your contract, be aware that you may incur an exit fee for terminating your agreement early. This fee can impact your overall savings, so it’s important to weigh your options carefully.

A: If your contract nears its end, you can:

• Do nothing and continue on deemed rates from your current supplier.
Before committing to a fixed price, it’s essential to compare various fixed-rate deals from different energy suppliers. This will help you find the most competitive rates tailored to your business’s energy needs, ensuring you make a well-informed decision.
The energy price cap is the maximum amount energy suppliers can charge domestic customers for each unit of energy and standing charge if they’re on a standard variable tariff.
If you don’t have a recent energy bill, you’ll first need to find out who your network operator is.
Find my electricity supplier:
1. go to the Energy Network Association search tool
2. enter your postcode
3. contact your local network operator for your supplier details
You can also get your electricity Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN), which tells your energy supplier where your meter is and your electricity supply number.
